I agree with you. If there are any long-term survivors after the dieoff, it means they found a way to base their lives on renewable resources. But I am afraid those renewables will be much more low-tech than the cornucopians imagine...
I wish we could take some steps to mitigate the collapse and deindustrialize with minimal suffering, but I don't see much hope for that. Not as long as the "experts" who inform public policy are in complete denial of the entire predicament. They are so convinced that technology will solve every problem that they literally don't see a need to pursue anything but endless growth. - Eivind Berge
