Gail Tverberg about the Return of the Commons after Collapse

Tverberg for once gives a very encouraging comment about a glorious future of the commons! What it really would be better to do is go back to is the situation before land ownership and goods ownership (other than what you could carry). Then everything would be owned in common. The only restraints would be restraints handed down through the culture that explained how you and others should act. We would probably be back to small “gift economies,” or perhaps a step or two up from that–land ownership schemes that didn’t encourage each person to overuse their own plot, so as to maximize production each year. Also, the few animals owned could be rotated among the plots, to help with fertilization. When I made the comment near the end that there is really no wealth that is permanent for the long run, I was referring to the fact that our ownership of land and houses depends on a governments continuing to recognize this ownership. There is also the issue of being able to continue to pay taxe...

The Link between the Norwegian Eco-Philosopher Sigmund Kvaloey Setreng and the Giant Christopher Alexander - about Complexity as the Foundation for Life

Original comment and article here . Øyvind Holmstad Says: February 10, 2015 at 2:34 am Vera, I want to inform you that it will soon be published a book in Canada about the Norwegian eco philosopher Sigmund Kvaloey Setreng! His father was my father’s teacher. He is quite much philosophizing about generated contra fabricated complexity, and is fully aligned with the philosophy of Alexander. But he calls fabricated complexity “complication”, meaning it’s not real complexity, because it repeats itself. Generated complexity, or adapted, is TRUE complexity, as it NEVER repeats itself! Nature never repeats itself, so all complexity generated by nature has a true complex nature, or true complexity. This is why we MUST turn human structures away from fabricated complexity or complication, to generated complexity, or agile design. Because only generated complexity is RESILIENT! This is why I have as a slogan: RESILIENCE AFTER MODERNISM! Deep Ecology was founded by Sigmund Kvaloey...

Motstandsmannen Audun Engh

Audun Engh har talt arkitektene midt imot i over 20 år.
